Q. How much whiter will my teeth get?

In clinical studies, average results showed that BriteSmile improved whiteness by more than 9 shades. Results may vary based on your starting point and how your teeth respond to the treatment, but typical results are nothing short of impressive. The ultimate goal is to achieve the most natural whiteness possible. Your dentist will address what you should expect. Even with severe discoloration, you can get good results in many instances. In difficult cases, a more lengthy treatment than the standard one-hour is sometimes required.

Q. Is teeth whitening safe?

Yes. Hydrogen peroxide is the primary ingredient in the BriteSmile gel, which has been used to safely whiten teeth for over 100 years and further is recognized by the dental community as an effective whitening ingredient. The 15% hydrogen peroxide of BriteSmile gel is much lower when compared to other whitening gels that can contain 35%-50% hydrogen peroxide. Finally, The BriteSmile procedure does not soften existing fillings or enamel.

Q. How long will the teeth whitening last?

Clinical studies have shown results can last as long as three and a half years. Using the maintenance kit and regular visits to the dentist for cleanings can make results last even longer. Long-term results will depend on the individual. The use of products like tobacco or drinking dark soft drinks, tea or coffee can work against the results.

Q. How does BriteSmile work?

After you relax in your chair, you receive a teeth and gums examine by the BriteSmeile dentist checking for good oral health. Our proprietary whitening gel is then applied to your teeth. The BriteSmile light is positioned correctly over your teeth where it can activate the gel. Over the next hour your teeth will be lightened to their optimum, natural whiteness.

Q. Does it hurt?

In some cases, customers may experience a minor dull ache following the procedure. However most of our clients do not experience pain or even sensitivity after the BriteSmile treatment. In any case, avoiding drinks that are very hot or cold for the first 24 hours is recommended if there is any tooth sensitivity.
